RS PRO 20 μF Polypropylene Capacitor PP 440 V AC ±10% Tolerance Screw Mount
This metallised capacitor from RS PRO is a motor-run type that provides power to motors. You can see polypropylene capacitors like this unit in pumps for domestic appliances and some office equipment. They are also used as AC capacitors for electrical distribution and in high-frequency and high-power systems such as induction heaters.
It has excellent self-healing properties as the capacitor clears a fault area where a short has occurred after a breakdown. The product is encapsulated in a non-flammable plastic case conforming to Underwriters' Laboratories' UL94V0 flammability standard, which assures the risk of flammable combustion is minimised. The capacitor has a screw mount terminal.
The unit complies with Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) standards so is made using only minimal amounts of any harmful substances. It's also tested against electrostatic discharge (ESD) criteria and complies with ANSI/ESD S20.20:2014 and BS EN 61340-5-1:2007 regulations, so you can be sure the hazard of discharge is minimised.
