Eaton Snap-Action Plunger Limit Switch, AC/DC - LS Series - LS-11S
This position (or limit) switch from Eaton uses a plunger actuator to mechanically sense the position of an object. It's ideal for industrial applications where correct positioning is vital, such as production lines or assembly equipment. The plunger switch depresses as the object makes contact with it. This opens or closes the electrical contacts to allow automated control of machinery. The mechanical method of automation uses less electricity and isn't as prone to failure, so it's a reliable and efficient way to control the limit of travel of manufactured objects.
IP66/67 (ingress protection) ratings mean it's suitable for challenging environments
Eight possible positions for operating heads means extra versatility
Snap-action contacts help prevent arcing or false signalling
Wide operating temperature range of -25°C to +70°C
Easy to install, maintenance-free cage clamp

Why should I use a limit switch?
Limit switches use mechanical actuators to perform functions like count moving objects, control a limit of travel or open or close a circuit in the presence or absence of an object. Because they depend on mechanical actuation – physical contact – it's less breakable and more energy-efficient way to automate your system.
