SKF CMSS 200

The CMSS 200 is a low-cost machine condition indicator for monitoring non-critical machinery such as gearboxes, pumps, fans, compressors and motors. Programming is done using a magnetic key to set alarm levels, switch between operating modes, set vibration and temperature limits, and acknowledge and reset alarms. By giving an early indication of when a unit is operating outside of its usual parameters, expensive failures and breakdowns are avoided reducing down time and maintenance costs.

The CMS 200 can be set-up in one of four operating modes:

Threshold mode

Velocity and enveloping measurement results are compared to the default alarm threshold levels running at constant speeds from 900 rpm to 3600 rpm.

Percentage Mode

The CMSS 200 records a set of measurements that are used to represent normal working conditions. A multiple of these readings are used to establish the limit of operation and any deviation above these limits triggers an alarm condition.

Verification Mode

If an alarm condition is triggered, the measurement is retaken to confirm removing. With a complex internal algorithm, the measurement helps to prevent false alarms.

Adaptive Alarming

If an alarm condition triggers a small deviation, the CMSS 200 monitors the condition over a period of up to 12 hours before triggering a red alarm. If the set values exceed an excessive amount, then the sensor triggers a red alarm without monitoring.
To maximise battery life, the MCI remains in sleep mode activating up to 8 times in a 24-hour period. The vibration sensor can be pre-set by the technician to record and check data against pre-set levels.
