In any manufacturing process, prototyping and testing your schematic design are essential steps. To ensure your product is free of bugs and design flaws, you should test it before sending it to the manufacturer. In this stage, you can spot flaws in your design and fix them quickly using prototyping boards. As we don't want you to end up receiving thousands of defective products.
Prototyping Boards
Prototyping boards, also referred to as PCBs (printed circuit boards), have innumerable uses throughout the electronics industry, such as designing/constructing electrical circuits, prototyping, assembly, and other electrical engineering applications.
Designing an electrical item requires a prototype printed circuit board. Components are connected using conductive tracks on printed circuit boards. On the other hand, printed circuit boards are more economical to produce than traditional circuit boards. Since they are printed, complicated wiring is not required.
Business owners in the electronics design industry can benefit greatly from a faster manufacturing process since prototyping boards are less labour-intensive to manufacture.
Types of prototyping boards available
We stock a wide selection of prototyping PCBs for a range of different electronic work, including all stages of planning, testing, and delivery. Among our advanced catalogue of printed circuit board products, you will find:
1 - Motherboards
Motherboards are the primary printed circuit boards in computers. Chipsets, processors, and memory are all connected through them.
It is not uncommon for a large motherboard's PCB to be comprised of six to fourteen layers of fibreglass and copper traces to connect the PCB together, as well as copper planes to isolate power and signal. However, through expansion slots, motherboards can be extended with other components.
2 - Breadboards
Breadboards consist of plastic structures that have holes connected horizontally and vertically via copper wires enclosed in the plastic. Reusable solder-free plugboards for plug-and-play prototyping and circuit design/testing.
3 - Printed Circuit Boards
A printed circuit board, or PCB, provides mechanical support and electrical connections by means of conductive paths, traces, or signals micro-etched onto copper and laminated to a non-conductive surface.
4 - Matrix boards
Prototype circuit boards are used for laying out electrical components securely in both high-frequency and analogue circuit building.
5 - Stripboards
A form of electronics prototyping board with a rectangular grid of holes (also known as Veroboard), for creating a robust permanent circuit with reliable connections while eliminating the need for separate terminal pins.
6 - LED prototyping boards
Construction bases for making and testing sample circuits based around individual or linked LED modules.
7 - Eurocards
European standard format PCBs that can be plugged together into a standardised subrack, compatible with a wide range of connector types (including numerous original DIN connector standards)
8 - Copper clad boards and photoresist boards
light-sensitive material sheets for producing and prototyping PCBs, made from high-quality glass epoxy with a copper foil bonded to one/both sides
