Rod style linear actuators

Rod style electric actuators provide linear output forces (pushing, pulling or pressing a load). The rod extends/retracts in response to input current, acting on an attached load or one positioned such that it will be moved. They’re a popular alternative to pneumatic slide unit actuators, because the extent of motion for a rod-style actuator isn’t strictly limited by the length of its housing.

Electric rod actuators are simpler to install and maintain than equivalent hydraulic components, and often chosen where accurate end-to-end positioning, fast speeds or high forces are required. Rodless electric actuators can be belt-driven or screw-driven, and are often preferred in pick-and-place or sensor adjustment roles.They commonly use self-lubricating toothed belts or lead screw axes for smooth linear operation and quick installation, without the need for external lubrication. Defined stroke length makes them ideal in systems or machinery designed for lifting, stacking and testing.
