Magnetic Field Indicator / Solenoid Tester

The tip of the Magnet Stick lights up when in the presence of a magnetic field. It responds to all kinds of magnetic fields from alternating current to direct current and permanent strong magnets.,A small test magnet is housed in the cap of the Magnet Stick to check that it is working correctly.

Features and Benefits:

• Easy to use
• Powerful red light indicator
• Lightweight

Product Application Information

Testing operating solenoid valves in pneumatic and hydraulic control equipment.
Testing relays with coils and electrically controlled solenoid valves in all types of vehicles and machines.
Testing solenoid valves when servicing oil burners.
The test lamp lights immediately and without metallic contact where there is a magnetic field, for example an activated coil in a solenoid valve.

Applications:

• Checking the functionality of relays, contactors, solenoids and coils • Testing solenoid valves in pneumatic and hydraulic equipment
• Automotive relay fault finding
• Air conditioning servicing
• Fault finding
• Testing solenoid valves when servicing oil burners

What is a magnetic field detector?

A magnetic tester or detector such as the Magnet Stick, is an instrument that is able to detect magnetism, they are able to identify magnetic materials or fields.

What is a magnetic field?

It is a vector field and best describes the magnetic influence of electric charge in magnetic materials or relative motion. Measured usually by strength and direction, these vector quantities can be measured in Gauss or units of Tesla in SI units. They are otherwise known as a moving electrical charge often used in electromechanics and engineering within electric motors.

Note

This unit uses a magnetic read switch sensor. For applications requiring more sensitivity we recommend stock No. 719-0876 which uses a Hall Effect sensor.

Supplied with

Batteries fitted and an instruction leaflet.
