How to use the SM Interset Plasterboard Cavity Wall Plugs?
- Drill a hole ensuring it is the correct diameter needed for the job.
- Insert the wall plug fixing into the drilled hole.
- Gently, using a hammer, tap the wall fixing into the drilled hole plus ensure the fitted anti-rotation lugs on the fixing penetrates the wall.
- When the fixing is inserted into the drilled hole you then use the AT Setting Tool to pull the screw head and this will expand the fixings body providing a secure installation.
What types of plasterboard fixings are there?
- Zinc alloy - an all in one self-drilling anchor.
- Zinc alloy reduced depth.
- Nylon.
Can I screw straight into plasterboard?
Ordinary wall plugs are not suitable for use with plasterboard as they expand once you screw into them, which will create holes and cause the plasterboard to crumble due to its softer properties. It is essential that you use the correct fixing such as self-drill zinc alloy or nylon plasterboard fixings.
What types of plasterboard fixings are there?
There is a wide range of fixings and wall plugs available that are suited for use with plasterboard, depending on what it is you're fixing. Some of the most common are:
