RS PRO Steatite High Temperature Terminal Blocks

From RS PRO, this ceramic bodied non-fused terminal block presents a reliable and cost-effective solution to wire-to-wire connections in high-temperature environments. The terminal block is direct-mount and so does not require the use of a DIN Rail. Instead, it features two galvanized mounting screws that allow mounting to any surface.

This RS PRO terminal block also features screw-down contacts made from nickel plated brass, for secure and effective wire termination.

Features and Benefits

• Temperature rating 300°C

• Voltage rating: 450V

• High density

• Better bending / compression strength

• Greater elasticity

• Higher dielectric strength

• Non-flammable

• Resistant to chemicals

• Dimensional stability up to 1000 °C

Applications

Terminal connectors have a wide range of applications and are a common component in electrical installations of all kinds, both domestic and industrial. The simplicity of their screw-down termination means they are particularly well suited to semi-permanent installations, or where frequent maintenance might occur.

Whether for device connection to printed circuit boards or for wire-to-wire extensions, terminal blocks provide a straight forward and dependable connection solution.

These ceramic terminal connectors are made from steatite material, and have excellent temperature resistance, and as such are suitable for challenging environments with continuous high temperatures. They are often used in

• Thermocouple wiring

• External line wiring

• Interfacing heater accessories

FAQs

Q: Are these terminal blocks suitable for all environments?

A: Though terminal blocks are highly versatile, they are not the most secure of connectors, and may not be suitable for high vibration environments or applications where impact shock is a possibility.

Q: When are ceramic terminal blocks used other than for high-temperature applications?

A: Seatite terminal blocks have excellent temperature resistance compared to typical plastic terminal blocks, but can be used just as easily in common applications.
