USB C (also known as USB type C) is a standard of connector. It is one of the latest USB versions and consists of a 24 pin connector system. It offers a slim design which is idea for smaller, portable devices.
One of the benefits of USB C is that a plug can be inserted either way round, it does not have a particular orientation like traditional USB ports. USB 3.1 is a standard protocol for USB C connectors. USB 3.1 offers transfer speeds of 10 Gbps, as opposed to USB 3.0 which offers 5 Gbps.
