Roller chain links are the individual components that make up a roller chain, available in both European (BS/ISO) and American (ANSI) standards across a range of pitch sizes. The two base components are roller links, which carry the free-rotating rollers between inner plates, and pin links, which join those roller links together through riveted outer plates. Our roller chain range covers simplex, duplex and triplex configurations in carbon steel and stainless steel, with chain types spanning 05B-1 through 24B-2 and ANSI 40 through 120.
RS offers roller chain links from brands such as Renold, Sedis, Tsubaki, TYC and Witra in New Zealand. They are available as single units or in packs of five or ten, making them suitable for individual repairs or maintenance stock.
RS offers different roller chain links for joining and adjusting roller chains. The main types include connecting pin links and offset pin links.
Connecting pin links, also referred to as a chain joining link or chain joiner link, are used to join two ends of a roller chain together. These connecting pin links consist of an outer plate fitted with two pins that slot inside the adjacent roller link bushes, and a connecting plate which is fitted separately. They are available in three types:
An offset pin link combines a roller link and a pin link, consisting of two offset plates, a bush and a movable pin held in place by a cotter pin or split pin. These links are used when the chain length is an odd number of pitches, increasing or decreasing chain length by one pitch, though this practice is not recommended. A two-pitch offset link, also listed as a double offset link, comprises one offset and one roller link and is available across the Tsubaki, Renold and Witra ranges.
Roller chain links are used for repairing, maintaining and adjusting roller chains in a range of industrial applications. RS lists roller chains for areas including industrial machinery, conveyors, mining, food and automotive applications.
Connecting links can be used to join sections of the drive chain during repairs or replacement. The link should match the chain type and pitch for a proper fit. RS offers connecting and other roller chain links in different sizes and specifications.
Roller chain links can be used to maintain conveyor systems and replace chain components. They are suitable for industrial conveyor applications where roller chains are used to transmit mechanical power.
Offset links can be used to adjust the length of a roller chain by one pitch. They are available alongside connecting links and other chain components for different roller chain types.
Roller chain links are part of roller chain systems that transmit mechanical power between rotating components. These systems are used across industrial machinery, conveyors, mining, food processing, automotive and other applications. RS offers links in different chain types, pitches and materials to suit various requirements.
