    Keypads

Keypads are blocks or pads that house a set of buttons to provide a user interface to a machine. The buttons usually display numbers, letters or symbols. Numeric keypads are miniature keyboards designed to operate small electronic devices, such as telephones.

Keypads are usually available when an information input is required. For example, in a calculator you will input the sum via a keypad or selecting your choice in a vending machine.

Keypads are also popular in security systems which require the input of a PIN or passcode. You will find keypads in point-of-sale machines and card machines too. Common keypads feature 0 to 9 buttons or start/stop functions while other keypads may come blank and provide the ability to customise with wording and symbols.
