LAN9353 3-Port 10/100 Ethernet Switch

The Microchip LAN9353 is a high performance 3-Port 10/100 Managed Ethernet Switch IC. The device supports a single MII/RMII/Turbo MII to offer up to 200 Mbps network speeds. In addition, the LAN9353 can be configured to support dual RMII operation.

The device offers a virtual PHY feature that mimics a single PHY connection through the MII/RMII/Turbo MII interface to the host SoC that can simplify software development. This feature also allows system designers to swap the single PHY and Ethernet switch to create multiple SKUs from the same software driver.

The LAN9353 integrates all the functions of a 10/100 switch system including the Switch Fabric, Packet Buffers, Buffer Manager, MACs, PHY Transceivers and Serial Management. IEEE 1588v2 is supported via an integrated Hardware Time Stamp Unit, which supports end-to-end and peer-to-peer transparent clocks.
