StarTech.com 6in 4K Hi-Speed HDMI Port Saver Cable - HD2MF6INL
StarTech.coms superb port saver offers users high resolution video through HDMI. Designed with simplicity in mind, this adapter is an obvious choice for those wanting to maintain a port on any HDMI display. The port is extended away from the display, creating a more flexible connection and brings less damage through wear and tear by leaving this 6in cable plugged in. With support for HDR (High Dynamic Range), it provides richer, sharper, and an enhanced feel to images and video.
Astounding Resolution and Sound
This HDMI adapter supports 4K resolutions at 60Hz (3840 x 2160) with a maximum bandwidth of an incredible 18Gbps. Its fully capable of connecting with your HDMI 2.0 equipment as well as earlier versions of HDMI. On earlier versions, this adapter will allow videos and pictures to be shown at the maximum resolution of the display.
This compact lead supports brilliant colour, improved contrast, and greater luminosity through HDR support. Being 3D ready and supporting 12:9 aspect ratio means users can enjoy cinematic viewing in excellent picture quality.
StarTechs wire also allows for 32 channels of uncompressed, or lossless, digital audio channels for closer to real sound audio.
Secure Connection
The port saver has an excellent high-retention feature that allows the connection to remain secure over a longer period. StarTech.com have designed the male connector with an automatic latching system on the inside of the port. This means that any vibrations or movement that may loosen a normal connection will only have a meagre affect on this cable, preventing accidental signal loss or disconnections.
Plug in and Play
A great feature of this HDMI cable is that it doesn't require any additional software to be downloaded to use it. With no set up needed, it's incredibly easy to use, just plug in and play. As its a small cable, users can place the connections in a location close to where it suits their needs best. It has a low profile and is extremely lightweight, allowing users to slip it into a laptop bag or rucksack.

FAQs
What are the applications for this device?
Users can use this device to save their original port from wear and tear on any display. By essentially moving the port away from the display via this cable, it means the original port wont see the wear and tear that the new cable will, hence extending the life of that connection.
What is an HDMI cable used for?
An HDMI cable is used for displaying superb quality video and sound from an input, eg. DVD player, to an output, eg. 4k HD TV.
How do HDMI cables work?
HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface and works by using TDMS (transition-minimized differential signalling). TDMS encodes the signal being transmitted, which protects information from degrading as it travels along the cable from one place to another. One of the many wires carries the signal itself and another wire carries the inverse. Once the signals have reached the TV, the TV decodes the signal. Then, using the difference between the original signal and the inverse, the TV compensates for any loss of information that may have happened along the way.
Is there any difference between HDMI cables?
There are many versions of HDMI since it was commercially launched in 2003. Each revision normally adds support for specific devices and includes new features. For example, the very first version (1.0) could transfer data at 4.95Gbps, while the newer (2.0) iteration can transfer data up to 18Gbps. This, amongst other features.
