FCI RotaConnect Rotatable SMT Board to Board Connectors
RotaConnect Rotatable SMT board to board connectors with a hermaphroditic design having both male and female contacts in one connector. The hermaphroditic design of these RotaConnect connectors means the connector "mates to itself" and avoids the necessity of having to have both a header and receptacle. These RotaConnect connectors can be mated at any angle between +90° and -60° which, coupled with the hermaphroditic design, enables the connector to be placed anywhere on the PCB. Perpendicular, coplanar and angled connections are supported in multiple mating and unmating directions. The shrouded housings of these RotaConnect connectors protect the contacts from damage and are made from reflow solder compatible high temperature grade thermoplastic. The housing also incorporates self-guiding features for accurate alignment and to prevent mismating. Versions of these connectors are available with either hold downs for secure retention to the PCB or with locating pegs to aid placement. The locating peg versions eliminate the need for hold downs and allow further space saving on the PCB. The contacts of these RotaConnect SMT BTB connectors have a dual beam design that offers high reliability and performance and resistance to vibration.
