3M Coarse Sanding Sheet, P40 Grit, 280 (L) x 230mm (W) - 3M230U 230X280 P40

Use this 3M P40 grit coarse sanding sheet on metal, wood and stucco surfaces to remove unwanted materials. It's a lightweight sandpaper made with aluminium oxide, which makes it ideal for machine and manual sanding applications. The coarse grade eases the sanding process and quickly eliminates debris. With its fast-cutting abrasive material, it's a popular choice for preparing surfaces, both when you need to make them rougher to glue on and smoother for finishing.

Features and Benefits

• Lightweight and flexible coarse-grade sheet for sanding contours

• High-cutting aluminium oxide abrasive material is effective in heavy sanding applications

• Quality double resin coating has self-levelling properties to create smooth surfaces

• Ideal for rough shaping of wood and removing previous finishes like light polyurethane coatings

Applications

• Hand and machine sanding

• Painting and decorating

• Wood finishing

• Use for manual and machine sanding of rough wood, stucco and metal

Which sanding grit should I use?

Your choice of sanding grit size depends on the work surface you're tackling. Coarse sandpaper with a grit size of 40 to 60 is suitable for heavy stripping and sanding. Use sandpaper from sizes 80 to 120 for fixing minor defects or smoothing surfaces. Sizes 360 to 460 work best for finishing a surface smoothly.
