Belden Alpha Wire 1 Twisted Pair RS-485 Data Cable, 0.462mm² CSA - Alpha Essentials Series - 6453

Relay information between devices without the risk of crosstalk with this data cable from Belden's Alpha Wire range. Its twisted-pair design minimises disruption from EMI (electromagnetic interference) to deliver a reliable data connection. The tinned-copper conductors are resistant to corrosion, making this cable ideal for use in damp or humid conditions. It also benefits from a combination of aluminium mylar foil and braided tinned-copper shielding, which gives extra protection against the external EMI (electromagnetic interference) often found in heavily automated applications.

Features & Benefits

• PVC cable jacket protects against friction and wear in heavy-duty applications

• Operating temperature range between -20°C and +60°C for use in demanding conditions

• Comes on a reel for convenient handling and neat storage

Applications

• Control and automation systems

• Automotive industry

• Packaging and logistics

How do twisted-pair cables reduce disruption from EMI?

When a wire carries an electric current, it generates an electromagnetic field that causes EMI. A twisted-pair design helps reduce this effect by making the paired wires carry signals in opposing directions, meaning the two magnetic fields generated cancel each other out.
